Council sponsors Pearl Beach thesis

Gosford Council has awarded $550 to an honours student for a geography thesis on Pearl Beach.
The University of Newcastle student, Glynis McClymont, will record the recent history and development of the Pearl Beach community.
The director of council's corporate and community services, Mr Chris Gallagher, said the project had high investment value for both the Pearl Beach community and council.
"The project will complement earlier works on the area, " he said.
"The thesis will become a very useful source on life in a coastal community, demonstrating the environmental and social pressures affecting a small coastal community during a period of change."
Ms McClymont had originally requested $700.
