Soccer branch holds championships

The Central Coast Soccer Association (CCSA) held its Branch Championships over the June long weekend.
Competition took place in six age groups, from 11 year olds to 16 year olds.
The Central Coast was divided into five zones and players were selected from clubs within those zones.
The Peninsula was represented by Southern Zone teams.
13 and 16 year old championship matches were played at Mangrove Mountain, with two matches played by each team on each of two days.
The 13 year age group was won by Eastern Zone who went through undefeated.
The team was mainly made up from the two leading teams in the regular weekend competition and proved too strong for all comers.
Unfortunately, although Southern Zone battled valiantly all weekend in this age group and managed a draw against the team that eventually ended runner up, they finished last on the table, one point behind Northern Zone.

In the 16 year age group, Southern Zone again had a bad time of it finishing in the bottom part of the table.
Central Zone were comfortable winners having gone through undefeated.
