Request to name lane

Gosford Council has received a request for an unnamed laneway located off Trafalgar Ave, near the intersection of McMasters Rd, Woy Woy, to be named after a Peninsula pioneer settler.
Eight of the properties that have access to the lane also have access to other streets and therefore street addresses.
One of the properties has no other access other than the lane and the owner of the property made the request for council to call the lane Morrow Lane.
The council's development and environment director said the name Morrow referred to Anne Morrow and her sons who arrived in Australia in 1817.
Anne Morrow joined her husband James Settree and one of their sons, Joseph, was granted land in Woy Woy Bay in the 1830s by Governor Bourke.
Anne Morrow also lived on the land in a wooden cottage.
Further generations were instrumental in shipbuilding in the Davistown area.
The name Morrow Lane would be adopted if no objections were received during a 28-day public exhibition period.
