Judo room closed

Woy Woy Judo Club's room at Peninsula Community Centre has been closed by Gosford Council on engineer's advice.
A visual inspection, preparatory to the centre's redevelopment by the council, revealed possible structural damage.
The closure could not have happened at a worse time for the judo club.
Some 40 judo players from Japan are due to visit the club in five weeks time.
Club secretary Lindy Simmons said: "We are a community-based organisation. We receive no other funding and we cannot afford to go anywhere else."
Gosford mayor Cr Chris Holstein said the room was closed as a precautionary measure and the council would act as quickly as possible to resolve the situation.
He said the council would look at providing assistance to the club to relocate in the short term.
Woy Woy Judo Club has been operating from the Peninsula Community Centre since its opening in 1975.
It has more than 40 members with training three times a week.
In 1995, Council inspectors advised the club that the floor of the room was sagging.
The council provided timber and, after fundraising, the club purchased the remaining materials required and provided the labour to carry out repairs.
The Council Building Committee for the Peninsula Community Centre is planned to meet again on June 22.
