Celeste is commended

Local hairdresser Celeste Carlson won a highly commended award at the recent L'Oreal Australia Colour Trophy award.
Celeste, 23, the owner of Celestial Hair, Body and Beauty salon, in Woy Woy won the commendation in her third year of trying.
The commendation placed her entry in the top 10 in the state, she said.
"The competition was very strong, there were thousands of entries and some of the competitors have international reputations."
The competition judges relied on a photographic series sent in by the competitors showing each stage of the design.
Competitors had to design a hairstyle for a woman between the age of 18 and their late 20s and the photographic standard had to be good enough to appear on fashion magazines such as Marie Claire, said Celeste.
"It was a team effort from all my staff at the salon, from the apprentices to my senior staff and we were thrilled to have won the award," she said.
