Christian Scientist speaks on healing

A free public talk on "Transforming Human Experience through Spiritual Power" will be given by international speaker Mr Malcolm Jackson on Sunday, March 25, at 2pm at the Woy Woy Library.

Mr Jackson is a practitioner of Christian Science healing.

"Health, or the lack of it, concerns us all," said Christian Science board member Ms Merril Jackson.

"Can we expect, and even demand good health?

"People around the world have discovered that prayer can make a difference in their lives."

Mr Jackson said: "There is a principle of health that governs our existence.

"This scientific law of good is universally available to all."

Ms Jackson said the ideas were based on the "original source book on Christian healing, the Bible", along with the book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

During the talk Mr Jackson will explore universal divine laws that bring healing, an understanding of God, as revealed through Christ, at the heart of the practice of Christian Science and how participants can practice the Science to experience health in all aspects of their life.

Ms Jackson said that prior to becoming a practitioner of Christian Science healing, Mr Jackson worked as a pharmaceutical research chemist, a British government forensic investigator, a shipping manager, and an editorial assistant for the international newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor.

It was Mary Baker Eddy's application of the word "Science" to Christianity and her insistence in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, that there is a scientific principle behind Jesus' teachings and works, which aroused his interest in Christian Science.

The book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures will be available after the talk as well as at the Christian Science Reading Room, 56 William St, Gosford.
