Funding for art |
Pretty Beach Public School has been successful in receiving funding from ANZ for a specialised art project.
ANZ is sponsoring the arts extension program Arts Away for the second year running, which includes a donation of $100,000.
Pretty Beach Public School was one of 157 winners.
The initiative enables NSW Government schools to apply for funding of specialised arts projects beyond the core curriculum.
ANZ's Acting Managing Director, Trade & Transactions Services, Mr John Murphy said ANZ was pleased to support the program as it encouraged students to participate in creative and original art making.
"We were delighted with the wonderful works produced by students of all ages in the 2005 Arts Away, and look forward to seeing this year's projects," Mr Murphy said.
Mr Murphy said: "It's a great program that brings the school and community together.
"It allows people to get involved and help their local school."
This year the program will provide 157 NSW Government schools an opportunity to participate in creative art projects such as creating murals and sculptures, drama and music.
