Umina surfer Darren Stapleton captured his second Dave "Coke" Wards Memorial contest defeating defending champion Peter Hayes at Wamberal recently.

Stapleton, 32, as a grommet in the 1980s, benefited from Ward's passion for surfing.

Woy Woy businessman Dave Bouvy has been charged a $65 safe handling fee to dump asbestos at the Woy Woy landfill, only to see it ripped apart the next day.

Gosford Council has conceded that the asbestos was not handled correctly, but has declined to refund the fee.
