Spike Milligan dies
World-famous comedian and author Mr Spike Milligan passed away, aged 83, at his home near Rye, East Sussex in England surrounded by his family.
Mr Milligan was a frequent visitor to the Central Coast and holidayed in Woy Woy with his mother and brother Desmond for long periods.
Spike Milligan, born Terrance Allan Milligan on April 16, 1918 in Ahmed Nagar, India, died on February 27 of liver failure.
He had long been plagued by mental illness, and suffered from manic depression reputedly having more than 10 "breakdowns" in his lifetime.
