Temporary litter boom approved
A temporary litter boom will be installed in Correa Bay, Gosford Council's Coastline Management, Lagoon Management, and Coastal Planning (CLP) Committee has decided.
It also decided to collect data and look at the possibility of an education program targeted at reducing the level of litter at the source.
The committee reviewed a report prepared by the Manager Flooding and Drainage and "expressed concerns" that the report did not address the potential siltation problem to Correa Bay in an area where there was a 0.1 per cent low water flow.
The committee requested more detailed information on proposals to deal with the potential siltation including priorities and proposed methods to stabilise creek banks.
A detailed proposed program of works to minimise siltation entering Correa Bay was requested.
The committee asked the report include the proposed control methods, including channel design and revegetation, to stabilise creek banks in a low flood flow area.
