Concern about DA advertising
Pretty Beach Wagstaffe and District Progress Association has expressed concern that most development applications (DAs) in the City of Gosford are no longer advertised in local newspapers.
The progress association has been posting lists in the Wagstaffe store, according to association spokesperson Ms Fay Gunther.
However, she said the association was concerned that the lists were not always timely or accurate.
"Many councils in Sydney continue to advertise DAs and many also install signs at the site of a proposed development.
"Gosford should be doing the same.
"It is particularly important in an area such as Pretty Beach - Wagstaffe which is developing quickly and where many people are expressing their concerns about over-development.
The association recently met with a Gosford Council staff member.
The association was told that although the council did continue to notify immediate neighbours about developments, many proposed developments were listed on the Council's internet site and were available for inspection at the council offices.
