Major tournament at Umina club
Organisers at the Umina Beach Bowling Club are gearing up for a major tournament to be held in November.
The mixed pairs event "Kings and Queens" has been won since its inception three years ago by Bev Jessop and John Roberts from the Ettalong Club.
Bowls coordinator Charlie Robinson said the popular three-day tournament involved four games over 15 ends of three bowls pairs.
It carried prize money of $7000 and was sponsored by Roy Lamb, The Sand and Metal Man, of Woy Woy.
