Bouddi fire plan was discussed

 

The draft Bouddi National Park Fire Management Plan was discussed at the August meeting of the Killcare-Wagstaff Trust.

National Parks and Wildlife Service ranger Andrew Jones was guest speaker.

He said the aim of the service was to preserve biodiversity of flora and fauna in the park.

Monitoring hazard build-up and using mosaic burn techniques ensured that plants, birds and animals were protected, he said.

Food sources were maintained in the areas adjacent to a hazard burn until regeneration took place.
