Woy Woy student Amanda Andrews has been awarded a $1500 scholarship.

The University of Technology student plans to use the money from the McDonalds Crew scholarship to fund a trip to Indonesia.

"I never realised the extra benefits I could get from working at McDonalds," Amanda said.

"The experience I have gained at McDonalds has been invaluable, such as learning time management skills and discipline, which has helped me with University studies.

"It has also improved my communication skills and given me greater confidence.

McDonalds Woy Woy owner-operator Mr John Ursino said he was impressed with Amanda's attitude and work manner.

"Combining study, work and outside commitments can be tough.

"But over the three years that Amanda has worked in our restaurant, she has continued to excel in all of these areas through her exceptional determination and motivation," Mr Ursino said.

"Amanda is an outstanding employee and I am delighted she has been recognised from the many applications received for the crew scholarship program and rewarded for her efforts."

Amanda plans to continue her commitment to local netball association and sponsorship of World Vision.
