Assistant principal retires |

Woy Woy Public School's assistant principal, Mrs Lesley Mason, will retire at the end of the year after 17 years.
Mrs Mason began teaching in 1868 moving between country, Sydney West and Central Coast schools.
She came to Woy Woy Public School as infants' mistress and was party to the move of the infants' section of the school from the northern side of Park Rd to its current site.
Principal Mr Warrick Hannon said: "In her time at our school, Lesley has been instrumental in shaping the lives of many young students, as well as teachers.
"Her name is synonymous with the high reputation that our school holds in the community.
"For some, Lesley shows a tough exterior, never one to be crossed.
"But beneath that firmness is a compassionate, caring, loving nature that blessed many of us over the years.
"The students in her class loved being there.
"Parents constantly requested that their children be in her class and teachers clambered to be part of her grade.
"She is respected by the entire school community.
"This respect has been founded on her excellent classroom management (even in a triple composite class), her passion for positive student welfare and the outstanding student outcomes that she assures.
"I am continually amazed at the wonderful writing, reading and maths results that her little charges produce.
"Lesley's dedication to her chosen occupation, her commitment to quality education and her positive influence on the lives of many at Woy Woy Public School have made her an icon in our community.
"Her retirement will leave many gaps which will be difficult to fill and her name will be long remembered in the hallways of our school.
"There are many excellent teachers in the education system in NSW but only occasionally do we have one who has had such a dramatic influence upon a school and the lives of those she has touched.
"Lesley Mason is one of those teachers.
"We bid farewell to Lesley with great sadness but also know that she has told us it is clearly time for her to go.
"She and her husband Roger will soon move into a new residence, have purchased a new car and ordered a new caravan.
"Its easy to see that they have their lives well planned for the future.
"Farewell, Mrs Mason we will miss you," Mr Hannon said.
