Christmas lunch for Umina CWA

Umina Beach branch of the Country Women's Association celebrated a traditional Christmas luncheon at Umina Beach Bowling Club on December 11.

The members decorated the tables, sang Christmas carols and performed humorous items.

Table three won the best-decorated table.

It was decorated with a Christmas tree, angel, crib and a candle centrepiece by Laurel Leslie, Mavis O'Neil, Olive Bryant, Beryl Voight, Peggy Smith and Clare Wren.

Coming a close second was table six.

Ruth Hawkshaw, Grace Carrol, Peg Wells, Fay Forster, Joan Clarke and Betty Nichols decorated their table with a rock and roll Santa and Mrs Claus, snow man, sleigh and a bowl of poinsettias.

Grace Carrol won first prize in the raffle, an antique doll.

Second prize went to Joan Clarke, third to Dawn Harmer, fourth to Laurel Leslie and fifth to Olive Bryant.

The branch will reconvene on January 22 for handicraft in the Umina CWA hall at 9am, followed by a friendship day and "hoy" in the hall at 9am on Wednesday, January 29.
