Brisbane Waters Private Hospital has received four plaques from veterans on the Peninsula for its work with veterans.

The plaques were presented on Thursday, November 21, to hospital chief executive officer Mr Graham McGuiness in recognition of his work for veterans at the hospital and the creation of a courtyard as a memorial to veterans.

The courtyard houses plaques and memorabilia from veterans and veteran associations.

It has been integral in forming the hospitals reputation as a leading health care provider to returned service personnel.

"We're here this morning to thank the hospital, and the staff, for the way they have looked after all the service personnel and returned service personnel," said Mr Allen Evans of the Korean Veterans Association.

"It's a hospital on its own. It's something out of this world."

"We wish to recognise the CEO of the hospital for his work in producing a wall to recognise veterans on the Coast, a place for them to come while staying at the hospital," Evans said.

Mr Tony Farrina, state president of the Malay-Borneo Assocation, said that veterans always swore by the service at the hospital.

"They are always well looked after," he said.

Mr McGuiness, a veteran himself, said that caring for the veterans was a pleasure.

"It's a part of what all communities should do," he said.

He said that hospitals in Queensland were now emulating Brisbane Waters Private Hospital in service to veterans and with memorial plaque walls.

At the presentation were state president and Brisbane Waters Sub Branch president of National Malay-Borneo Association Tony Farina, vice president Frank Lade, Allen Evans of the Korea Veterans Association, Snow Dicker of the Queensland Korea Association, Geoff Turner of the 2nd AIF 2/4 Pioneer, and Phil Thompson of the Museum Errabona.
