Dean Packer wins singles bowls

Dean Packer has convincingly won the Everglades men's consistency singles bowls from Barry O'Connor.

Dean skipped away to an early lead which he maintained to the finish.

The final of the mixed fours saw a game of fluctuating fortunes maintaining interest to the last bowl.

The team of Audrey Tucker, Sue O'Connor, Jack Ghiggino and Barry O'Connor defeated Gai Jackson, Clare Gerrard, Wally Gerrard and Jon Gibbons with the final score being a difference of two shots.

Championship winners were: Major singles Justin Kinross; minor singles John Wharton; men's pairs Glenn and Ted Hewson; men's triples Ross Hurley, Glenn Hewson and Ted Hewson; men's fours - Ray Mason, Brian Crawley, Frank Pengelly, Barry O'Connor; novice singles Judy King; consistency singles Dean Packer, mixed pairs Gwen and Ted Hewson; mixed fours Audrey Tucker, Sue O'Connor, Jack Ghiggino, Barry O'Connor; Snaggers Cup Barry O'Connor.

November saw the last of the versatility fours for the year with the fourth Monday in December, January, February and March being an open pairs commencing at 3.30pm with snacks afterwards.
