Proposed closure draws protest

 

Residents of Myall St and Memorial Ave, Ettalong, have objected to the proposed closure of an unnamed laneway between Myall St and Bourke Rd.

In a petition with 26 signatures to Gosford Council, they stated that at least 18 property owners accessed their garages via the laneway and many would have to reverse their vehicles along the laneway to exit, as there was no turning room.

The petition stated that the affected property owners drove in from Bourke Rd and out into Myall St for safety reasons.

The laneway was narrow and passing another vehicle could be hazardous, according to the petitioners.

They said that serious consideration should be given to their concerns and the disadvantage closure would cause to the affected property owners.
