Crier comes second

St Hubert's Island resident, Stephen Clarke, was judged runner-up in the Australian Town Crier's Championships held in Ipswich, Queensland, on April 7 to 9.
Gosford mayor, Cr Chris Holstein, said: "Entrants from all over Australia compete for the title so we are very proud of our official entrant's efforts.
"Runner-up in the national championships is a wonderful achievement," he said.
The City of Gosford also won the bid to host the 2001 National Town Criers' Championships.
They will be held as part of the Australian Springtime Flora Festival in September 2001.
